When traveling as part of a Berkeley Summer Abroad or Berkeley Global Internship program, students will be covered world-wide, 24 hours a day, for a wide variety of accidents and incidents. This coverage is provided at no cost to students. In addition to emergency medical coverage, this includes resources like a 24 hour advice nurse, Mental Health support and more. Here is a short overview of what’s covered in the policy:
- Pre-trip medical consults via phone (call the number on the card below)
- 100% of Medical expenses for an injury or illness that occurs abroad (pay up front and be reimbursed) up to $500,000
- Reimbursement up to a set limit for lost or stolen items, including lost luggage
- Reimbursement for costs you incurred due to trip or flight delays up to a set limit
- Mental health and crisis counseling (call the number on the card below)
